What is CVE-2023-0684?
The Wicked Folders plugin for WordPress is exposed to an authorization bypass vulnerability due to inadequate capability checks in the ajax_unassign_folders function. This flaw affects versions up to and including 2.18.16, allowing authenticated users with subscriber-level permissions and above to execute actions meant for administrators. Consequently, attackers can manipulate folder structures within the plugin, potentially leading to unauthorized modifications and data exposure.
