What is CVE-2023-1024?

The WP Meta SEO plugin for WordPress is susceptible to unauthorized sitemap generation due to a failure in implementing proper capability checks in the regenerateSitemaps function. This affects versions up to and including 4.5.3. Authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access can exploit this issue to generate sitemaps, as the plugin relies solely on nonce checks for access control, which are accessible to all authenticated users irrespective of their roles.
