What is CVE-2023-1404?

The Weaver Show Posts Plugin for WordPress is affected by a stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability, which arises from inadequate escaping of the profile display names in versions up to and including 1.6. This flaw enables authenticated attackers with contributor-level or higher permissions to inject malicious web scripts. These injected scripts can execute whenever a user visits a page containing the affected content, thereby compromising user security and potentially leading to further exploitations.
