What is CVE-2023-20742?

A vulnerability exists within the RIL component of MediaTek products, where a lack of proper bounds checking can lead to an out of bounds read. This flaw may allow an attacker with local access to gain unauthorized access to sensitive information. Exploitation of this vulnerability does not require user interaction, meaning that it can be exploited silently. The issue has been identified and addressed with the release of Patch ID ALPS07628591.
