What is CVE-2023-40208?

The Stock Ticker plugin developed by Aleksandar Uroševic is susceptible to an unauthenticated reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This flaw exists in versions prior to 3.23.3, allowing attackers to craft malicious payloads to be reflected in the responses sent back to users. Without proper validation or sanitization of user inputs, this vulnerability could be exploited to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the affected user's browser, leading to potential data theft or session hijacking.
