What is CVE-2023-4995?

The Embed Calendly plugin for WordPress exhibits a vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions and higher to carry out Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. This flaw arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes via the 'calendly' shortcode. Consequently, attackers can inject malicious web scripts into pages, leading to potential execution of these scripts when users access the compromised pages.
