What is CVE-2023-5448?

The WP Register Profile With Shortcode plugin for WordPress is impacted by a vulnerability that allows for Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). This vulnerability affects versions up to and including 3.5.9, where the update_password_validate function lacks proper nonce validation. Consequently, unauthenticated attackers could potentially exploit this issue to reset a user's password if they can manipulate the user into clicking a deceptive link or performing an unintended action.
