What is CVE-2023-5470?

The Etsy Shop plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the 'etsy-shop' shortcode. It affects versions up to and including 3.0.4, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level and higher permissions to execute arbitrary web scripts. The vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, enabling attackers to craft malicious payloads that can compromise user interactions with the site.
