What is CVE-2023-6561?
The Featured Image from URL plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the featured image alt text field. This vulnerability allows authenticated users with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary scripts. When a user visits a page with the manipulated alt text, the injected scripts will execute, potentially compromising the security of the website and its users. This vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 4.5.3.
