Stored Cross-Site Scripting in Shariff Wrapper Plugin for WordPress
CVE-2024-0966
6.4MEDIUM
What is CVE-2024-0966?
The Shariff Wrapper plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to stored cross-site scripting due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes, specifically the 'info_text' within its 'shariff' shortcode. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. When users access these pages and interact with the information icon, the injected scripts can execute, potentially compromising user security and site integrity.
