What is CVE-2024-10563?

The WooCommerce Cart Count Shortcode plugin prior to version 1.1.0 has a security flaw where it does not properly validate and escape shortcode attributes before rendering them on a page or post. This oversight allows authenticated users, specifically those with contributor roles and higher, to inject malicious scripts into the website. When executed, the injected script can lead to Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks, potentially compromising the integrity of the site and user data.
