What is CVE-2024-11109?

The WP Google Review Slider plugin for WordPress prior to version 15.6 does not properly sanitize and escape certain settings. This oversight can enable users with high privileges, such as administrators, to execute Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks, even in environments where unfiltered HTML capabilities are restricted. This vulnerability poses significant risks in multimodal setups where input from the plugin might be used without proper sanitization, allowing attackers to inject malicious scripts that can compromise site integrity.

Affected Version(s)

WP Google Review Slider 0 < 15.6

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
