What is CVE-2024-11141?

The Sailthru Triggermail WordPress plugin, up to version 1.1, presents a security risk due to inadequate sanitization and escaping of its settings. This vulnerability allows potential attackers to exploit the plugin's settings, enabling Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. Even when the unfiltered_html capability is restricted, such as in multisite setups, subscribers could still perform these attacks. Additionally, the absence of Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) protection further exacerbates this issue, highlighting the need for prompt security measures to safeguard user data.

Affected Version(s)

Sailthru Triggermail 0 <= 1.1

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
