What is CVE-2024-11281?

A privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the WooCommerce Point of Sale plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 6.1.0. This flaw arises from inadequate validation of the 'logged_in_user_id' when option values are empty, allowing potential attackers to manipulate the email addresses of any user accounts, including those of administrators. As a consequence, unauthenticated users can exploit this vulnerability to alter email addresses and reset passwords, facilitating unauthorized access to user accounts.
