What is CVE-2024-11426?
The AutoListicle: Automatically Update Numbered List Articles plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access or higher, to exploit Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the 'auto-list-number' shortcode. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on attributes supplied by users. This flaw permits attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which can execute every time a user visits an affected page, potentially compromising the security and integrity of the website.
