What is CVE-2024-11976?

The BuddyPress plugin for WordPress is prone to an arbitrary shortcode execution vulnerability. This issue stems from the plugin's failure to properly validate user-supplied values before processing them with the do_shortcode function. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary shortcodes, potentially leading to unauthorized actions within WordPress installations.
