What is CVE-2024-12256?
The Simple Video Management System plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the 'analytics_video' parameter. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in versions up to and including 1.0.4, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious web scripts. Attackers could exploit this issue by deceiving users into clicking on specially crafted links, leading to potential execution of arbitrary scripts in user sessions.
