Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Candifly Plugin for WordPress
CVE-2024-12440
6.4MEDIUM
What is CVE-2024-12440?
The Candifly plugin for WordPress has a stored XSS vulnerability that affects all versions up to and including 1.0.6. This flaw arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, specifically within the 'candifly' shortcode. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute whenever users access the compromised pages, potentially leading to unauthorized actions and data exposure.
