What is CVE-2024-12449?

The Video Share VOD – Turnkey Video Site Builder Script plugin for WordPress is exposed to a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability. This flaw occurs due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the 'videowhisper_player_html' shortcode. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary web scripts. When users access pages with these injected scripts, they can experience harmful consequences, making this a significant security concern for websites using the affected plugin versions.
