What is CVE-2024-12496?

The Linear plugin for WordPress is prone to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to inadequate input validation and output escaping in the 'linear_block_buy_commissions' shortcode. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions can exploit this flaw to inject malicious scripts into web pages. Any user visiting the manipulated page may unknowingly execute these scripts, compromising the security of their browsing experience.
