What is CVE-2024-13579?

The WP-Asambleas plugin for WordPress allows attackers with contributor-level access or higher to exploit a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability via the 'polls_popup' shortcode. Due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, an attacker can inject malicious web scripts. These scripts will execute on pages accessed by users, creating potential security risks for websites using this plugin version up to 2.85.0.
