What is CVE-2024-13588?

The Simplebooklet PDF Viewer and Embedder plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in user-supplied attributes of the 'simplebooklet' shortcode. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers, with at least contributor-level permissions, to inject malicious scripts into web pages. Consequently, when users access the compromised pages, their browsers may execute these scripts, posing significant security risks.
