Summary
The Better Messages plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the 'better_messages_live_chat_button' shortcode. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping for user-supplied attributes across all versions up to 2.6.9. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute when other users access the compromised content, posing a significant risk to site integrity and user trust.
