What is CVE-2024-13661?
The Table Editor plugin for WordPress exposes users to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability through its 'wptableeditor_vtabs' shortcode. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this flaw to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which execute when unsuspecting users visit the affected pages, potentially compromising user interactions and leading to unauthorized actions.
