What is CVE-2024-13730?

The Podlove Podcast Publisher plugin for WordPress prior to version 4.2.1 lacks proper input sanitization and escaping of certain settings. This flaw enables high privileged users, including administrators, to exploit stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities, even when the 'unfiltered_html' capability is restricted, such as in a multisite environment. Attackers could leverage this weakness to inject malicious scripts that would execute in the context of the affected site, posing significant security risks to users.

Affected Version(s)

Podlove Podcast Publisher 0 < 4.2.1

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
