What is CVE-2024-13740?
The ProfileGrid plugin for WordPress, up to version 5.9.4.2, is susceptible to an Insecure Direct Object Reference vulnerability through the pm_messenger_show_messages function. This security flaw results from insufficient validation on a user-controlled key, allowing authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to gain unauthorized access to private conversations between users. If left unaddressed, this vulnerability poses significant risks to user privacy and data security.
