The BWL Advanced FAQ Manager plugin for WordPress contains a significant flaw that allows authenticated users with Subscriber-level access and above to inadequately modify data through the 'baf_set_notice_status' AJAX action. This vulnerability exists due to a missing capability check, enabling potential attackers to update sensitive option values to '1', which could trigger errors, resulting in denial of service for legitimate site users. The flaw is present in all versions up to and including 2.1.4, necessitating immediate attention to prevent possible exploitation.
