Stored Cross-Site Scripting in Buddyboss Platform for WordPress
CVE-2024-13860
What is CVE-2024-13860?
The Buddyboss Platform plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability via the 'bbp_topic_title' parameter. This security flaw arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access or higher to inject malicious web scripts. These scripts can execute whenever a user accesses an affected page, posing significant security risks. While a partial patch was introduced in version 2.8.41, the vulnerability exists in all prior versions, underscoring the need for users to update to mitigate potential attacks.
