What is CVE-2024-14021?
LlamaIndex, a product by Run Llama, has a vulnerability in its BGEM3Index.load_from_disk() function. This vulnerability arises from unsafe deserialization due to the use of pickle.load() to retrieve data from a user-supplied persist directory without necessary validation. An attacker could exploit this by crafting a malicious persist directory containing a harmful pickle file, allowing them to execute arbitrary code upon loading the index from disk.
