Summary

The Modal Window plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in its shortcode implementation. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions or higher to inject malicious web scripts into pages. These scripts execute whenever users access the compromised pages, potentially leading to unauthorized access and other security risks.
