What is CVE-2024-5440?

The If-So Dynamic Content Personalization WordPress plugin, prior to version 1.8.0.3, is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. This vulnerability arises due to insufficient validation and escaping of certain shortcode attributes before their output on pages or posts. As a result, users with contributor roles or higher may exploit this weakness to inject malicious scripts, potentially compromising user data and the security of affected WordPress sites.
