What is CVE-2024-7876?

The Appointment Booking Calendar integrated with the Simply Schedule Appointments Booking Plugin for WordPress reveals security flaws related to inadequate sanitization and escaping of its Appointment Type settings. This vulnerability is particularly concerning for users with high privileges, such as administrators, as it opens avenues for Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. Even in cases where unfiltered HTML is disabled, the lack of proper input sanitization can enable attackers to manipulate the affected plugin, potentially compromising the security of the WordPress site and its users.
