What is CVE-2024-8187?

The Smart Post Show WordPress plugin, prior to version 3.0.1, is susceptible to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to inadequate sanitization and escaping of its settings. This flaw allows users with high privileges, like administrators, to execute malicious scripts, even in configurations that restrict the unfiltered_html capability, such as multisite environments. Exploiting this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized administrative actions and potential access to sensitive information.
