Summary

The GiveWP – Donation Plugin for WordPress has a PHP Object Injection vulnerability present in all versions up to and including 3.16.1. This vulnerability arises from the deserialization of untrusted input via parameters such as 'give_title' and 'card_address'. It allows unauthenticated attackers to inject a PHP object. The existence of a Property Oriented Programming (POP) chain can enable attackers to delete arbitrary files and execute code remotely. While version 3.16.1 includes some mitigation efforts to address this issue, further hardening has been implemented in version 3.16.2, making it crucial for users to update their plugins promptly.

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
