The Pagelayer plugin for WordPress, prior to version 1.8.8, contains a vulnerability due to inadequate sanitization and escaping of certain settings. This flaw allows users with high privileges, such as administrators, to execute Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks even when the unfiltered_html feature is disabled. Exploiting this vulnerability could lead to malicious scripts being injected and executed in the context of the website, compromising its security and integrity.
