What is CVE-2024-8851?
The Polls CP WordPress plugin version prior to 1.0.77 contains a vulnerability that allows high-privilege users, including administrators, to execute Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. This occurs due to inadequate sanitization and escaping of certain poll settings, permitting malicious scripts to be stored and executed even when the unfiltered_html capability is restricted, such as in multi-site environments. Website administrators are advised to update to the latest version to mitigate potential risks.
