What is CVE-2024-9663?

The CYAN Backup plugin for WordPress, prior to version 2.5.3, suffers from a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to improper sanitization and escaping of certain settings. This flaw enables high-privileged users, such as administrators, to inject malicious scripts, even in environments where the unfiltered_html capability is restricted, such as multisite installations. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to execute their scripts in the context of other users, potentially leading to unauthorized access and further exploitation.
