What is CVE-2024-9835?

The RSS Feed Widget plugin for WordPress, versions earlier than 3.0.1, is susceptible to a vulnerability where the $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] parameter is inadequately escaped before being rendered in an attribute. This flaw can potentially allow attackers to execute Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks, particularly in older versions of web browsers that do not implement proper security measures. Such exploits could enable malicious entities to manipulate content or execute scripts in the context of users' sessions.
