What is CVE-2025-11872?

The Material Design Iconic Font Integration plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows for Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS). This issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping applied to user-supplied attributes in the 'mdiconic' shortcode. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this flaw to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts are executed when other users access the compromised pages, posing a risk to user data and site integrity.
