What is CVE-2025-12391?
The BuddyPress plugin for WordPress contains a vulnerability that allows unauthorized data modifications due to a missing capability check in the handle_optin_optout() function. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this flaw to manipulate tracking preferences, essentially opting users in and out without their consent. This raises significant concerns regarding user privacy and data integrity across all versions up to and including 1.5.2.
