What is CVE-2025-12640?

The Folders – Unlimited Folders to Organize Media Library plugin for WordPress is susceptible to an issue that allows authenticated users with Author-level permissions and higher to replace any media file within the WordPress Media Library. This vulnerability arises from inadequate object-level authorization checks in the handle_folders_file_upload() function, potentially compromising site security and the integrity of uploaded media. Users are urged to upgrade to version 3.1.6 or later to mitigate this risk.
