What is CVE-2025-12961?

The Download Panel plugin for WordPress allows authenticated users with Subscriber-level access or higher to modify plugin settings without proper authorization checks. This vulnerability results from a missing capability verification in the wp_ajax_save_settings AJAX action, which enables attackers to alter crucial elements such as display text, download links, button colors, and other visual customizations.
