What is CVE-2025-12963?

The LazyTasks plugin for WordPress is susceptible to privilege escalation, allowing unauthorized users to manipulate user roles and change sensitive account information. This vulnerability arises from inadequate validation of user identity via the REST API endpoint. Attackers can exploit this flaw to alter administrative email addresses, potentially resetting passwords and gaining unauthorized access to user accounts.
