What is CVE-2025-12971?

The Folders Plugin for WordPress is affected by a vulnerability that allows authenticated users with Contributor-level access or higher to execute unauthorized modifications of folder contents. This arises from a misconfigured capability check in the 'wcp_change_post_folder' function, making it possible for attackers to manipulate folder structures arbitrarily in all versions up to and including 3.1.5. This weakness poses a risk to the integrity of the media library organization, enabling potential data mishandling and unauthorized access.
