What is CVE-2025-13738?

The Easy Table of Contents plugin for WordPress allows for Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on attributes within the ez-toc shortcode. Authenticated users with contributor-level access and higher can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary web scripts into website pages, which will execute when other users access those compromised pages. All versions up to and including 2.0.78 are affected, highlighting the necessity for immediate remediation to protect sites against potential attacks.
