What is CVE-2025-13851?

The Buyent Classified plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a privilege escalation issue due to inadequate validation of user roles during the registration process via the REST API. This vulnerability exists in all versions up to 1.0.7. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this flaw by registering with arbitrary roles, including administrative privileges, by altering the _buyent_classified_user_type parameter. This allows malicious users to gain control over the WordPress site, posing a significant security threat.
