What is CVE-2025-1406?

The Newpost Catch plugin for WordPress is susceptible to a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the npc shortcode. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers who have contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious web scripts into pages. The scripts execute in the context of the user’s session when they access the compromised page, potentially leading to session hijacking, data theft, and other malicious activities.
