What is CVE-2025-14142?

The Electric Enquiries plugin for WordPress suffers from a vulnerability that allows authenticated users with Contributor-level access or higher to execute arbitrary web scripts. The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the 'button' parameter within the electric-enquiry shortcode. This loophole can enable attackers to launch stored cross-site scripting attacks, potentially compromising the security of pages whenever a user accesses them.
