Authorization Bypass in weMail Plugin for WordPress
CVE-2025-14348

5.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2025-14348?

The weMail plugin for WordPress has a significant authorization bypass vulnerability due to its REST API trusting the x-wemail-user HTTP header without proper verification from an authenticated WordPress session. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can exploit this flaw by guessing or knowing an admin email, which can be retrieved easily through the /wp-json/wp/v2/users endpoint. This weakness allows them to impersonate users and access sensitive CSV subscriber data, potentially leading to the exfiltration of personally identifiable information, such as email addresses, names, and phone numbers, from imported CSV files.
