What is CVE-2025-15690?

The Content Mask plugin for WordPress prior to version 1.8.5.6 is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) due to inadequate sanitization and escaping of content submitted through posts. This vulnerability enables users with minimal privileges, such as Contributors, to inject malicious scripts through the plugin’s pages, which are subsequently executed in the context of users viewing or previewing the affected content. Additionally, the plugin's role restriction feature does not effectively mitigate this security issue.

Affected Version(s)

Content Mask 1.7.1 < 1.8.5.6

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
